"Norm" has a new home!
« on: May 01, 2013, 05:01:21 AM »
Some of you remember the sad day "Norm" my 1952 VanNorman #12 Milling machine went to a new home...

Well , I was really pleased to hear from the new owner and got some pictures!   He's been transformed!  Repaired, repainted,,,and ready to earn a living in his old age.....Thanks Tim!

Nice Job Man!

Was the drawback for you with Norm the fixed quill? I saw one on eBay.au the other week. I guess they got around.

Hugh.

Hey Hugh,

All of the above and spindle speed and available space...and a DRO...

If I had the space I would have kept old Norm....he can hog stock like no tomorrow....

The Clausing is just a much better fit for what I do.....did I mention it had a DRO? 8)

Her sure did a nice job on that Dave. It must help the separation anxiety knowing that Norm has found a caring new home :)

Actually Bill, I'm relieved!   He's not going to go to China and come back as a Kia or whatever...that part feels good!

It is a very cool machine Dave. I'd still rather your new one though

A very nice paint job on it. I looked for the one on eBay.au, but its no longer listed. It had a DRO.
