Small Boring Head

<< < (9/16) > >>

steamer:
Well ....I hope your wrong Mosey...but I agree , those dimensions would be a better size I think...no so much the diameter...but the length....guess we'll have to see.
But I am getting tired of making tooling for EVERYTHING...and this one is very close!....if its too long, I'll mod the other small one I have to 3/8 shank...and use it.   It's much shorter.
Dave

steamer:
Actually, that's what I'm going to do....

Dave

Mosey:
It'l be fine, just if you have nothing to start with, you might as well do it right...a really tiny head. There are no heads on this continent that have 3/8" shank as far as I can see. My Criterion, old, is 7/16", OK for Mr. Clausing.
M.

steamer:
Ah If I can turn the shank of my small one....it's a done deal...it doesn't appear to be hard.   I'll keep the 30 for the Clausing.

Dave

steamer:
OK

Got the boring head!   Wow is it small.   Way smaller than my smallest one.

The shank on the new 30 mm is soft, so easily turned.   The case is really nice and I got the HSS boring bars to match

Mosey...you could do far worse, and I think it will work just fine.....I'll try it out over the weekend...work to do....

Dave
