I'm another crossing over from the HMEM site. My name is Gavin Newman, I live in southern Adelaide, not far from Maryak.
I haven't built a model engine yet (it's on the to do list). I do a lot of machining and welding for other people's jobs and spend a lot of my time building and racing Superkarts with a local kart dealer. We build the karts from almost entirely from scratch, I do the welding and machining, the only parts we don't make ourselves are the bodywork, brakes, steering gear and axles. Currently I am #2 in Australia in my class which I'm proud of given the #1 driver is 1/3rd my age, and I won the State Championship outright in 2011.
When I eventually retire from racing (if the body holds out this won't be for some time) and then I'll have time to start on the engines I've drawn up but not started making yet.
