John Deere Hit & Miss Motor
« on: April 02, 2013, 08:27:01 PM »
This is what I have been up to for the last couple of months. Its a 1/3 scale model of a 1 1/2 hp John Deere motor that was built from castings. I should have it running soon and then I will post a video.
A very nice but expensive project but then it did keep me out of trouble since Christmas.

The castings came from

http://www.martinmodel.com/

It is a very complete kit along with instructions and photos of all the setups. I will feel better when I get it running which should be in a few days.

I did take a lot of photos along the way but I am not to handy with the camera or computer.

Thanks for looking

It looks great, Jack. The JD colors really pop. I'm anxious to see video of it running. :P

I was able to see it direct on utube, not as an imbed. It is really quiet! The valve motion makes more noise than the exhaust. A pretty piece of work.

Excellent job on the JD Jack. It's very rewarding when they run that nicely. Now you have to find another project.

Thanks everyone for the kind compliments on my John Deere just because I was so excited about finally getting it to run I made the short video with my Iphone great little phone not so great for posting online video for friends that want to see it run. I will try to get someone to help me make a proper video and then I will post that so that I can properly show off what I do with all the time that I spend in my little shop.

Thanks Again

Jack
