Too good to be true
« on: April 25, 2013, 09:39:31 PM »
OK, I'm a sucker. I bought a W12 die on Ebay described as "for W12 Schaublin collets". $28.00.
Guess what, it is 11.75 x 1.25 mm, but isn't buttress thread, so it is useless to me.
No problem, sent it back for full refund except for the $9.50 in customs and postage.
Why do I go for these obviously useless bargains?
A real die for that collet is about $175.00 I think.

We have all done it pal and don't think the ones trying to do it to us know how to make us do it to ourselves. Did that make sense?

And I'm sure they would "throw in the white keys for free" in order to make the sale.

Mostly, we do it to ourselves.
I give up on the W12, and will make a new drawbar and turn some nice US 7/16" x 20. Can't buy 15/32" DOM as far as I can tell. That would be really close.
Make all of my own collets, etc.

So where do you live that's so different from us?
We're in a parallel universe and not so far from a massive black hole...considering.

I can certainly say I'm in a hole right now.

Now see I know the hole Zee is in (private joke), he will get out. That thang that Marv lives in that we know as Hollyweird is virtually a black hole. Few that have ever entered it have ever come out. Well, a few did and are now on one of RuPauls reality shows :lolb:. Then there are those like Marv: educated, well spoken, informative, and are hopefuls for the RuPaul gig :old:. Luv ya Marv.

Y'alls redneck

PS. I'm working on a build and willlllll post piccys this weekend, I think, well maybe, OK I'll try to.
