I'm from S.E. Michigan. I guess I would describe myself as a "wannabe" hobbyist machinist.
In the past 5 years - I have completed one engine (Phil Duclos' Topsy Turvy) and I'm
part way along on building Jerry Howells "Bill" engine - and I've been "stuck" in that
state for about 3 years. My "shop" consists of a 9x20 lathe, and a X3 mill.
I'm interested in just about every aspect of model engineering; but the only thing I've actually
mastered is: turning useful bits of metal into swarf.
I also come from the "other" forum - where my user name was just "Bill". Their new owner says nothing
significant has changed; but I would (respectfully) disagree.
