Ally Pally Model Engineering Exhibition
« on: January 16, 2013, 11:03:35 AM »
Just wondering how many of us are going to the ME show this weekend at Alley Pally.

I will be going on Saturday with my model engineering club. I will be the woman showing a remarkable level of interest in model engines, hopefully weighed down with castings or machine tools... ;D

Looks like my visit might be put off for yet another year Jo.

The roads around Norwich where the coach leaves from are apparently quite bad at the moment and more snow is forecast for Friday. I guess I'll have to look on the bright side - more money left in my pocket and less stuff to bring home to wonder why I actually bought it  :noidea:

Ah well theres always next year!

Have a good day and yes if you have the time some pics would be well received

Jo, have a wonderful time and don't be bashful. Go ahead and load up with every tool and casting your heart desires; enjoy the fruits that Mont Blanc has afforded you. Perhaps knowing your affection for studs this might also afford you a venue to find one that could possibly help with that special project back at the shed .
Best Regards
Eric

Good point Eric, I am running short of stud material I know I need at least another 10ft of 1/8" for the valve bonnet studs on the mid sized Corliss :mischief:. I will have to do my sums before the show but in my experience EKP do the best prices for 303 stainless.

Edit: yes another 16ft of 1/8" 303 is needed for the studs on the cross compound over and above my current stocks ;).

But I will keep my eyes open, you never know when something desireable might turn up  8).

It's been a long time since I last went to Ally Pally for the model engineering show. Looking forward to pictures!

Things are not looking good. Heavy snow forcast between me and the coach that is due to be taking me :cussing:

Looks like I might be forced to indulge my desires by buying things over the internet , it is always nice to get to these shows to see old friends, meet new ones and to come away inspired by other people's models  :-\. (And to use my feminine charms on the traders to barter with them over their goods :LittleDevil:)

No, I only know one person with, what I think is a four by four, but I don't think any amount of sweet talking will have any influence there .

Looks like I am grounded :'(. We currently have "light snow" so that is 2" in 2 hours, the main snow is due in a couple of hours.

You can tell it is the UK even the threat of snow and everything goes to rats. The grocery stores yesterday hadn't had any deliveries so you can imagine what the shelves looked like .
