Graham Industries TVR1A
« on: July 21, 2012, 03:37:34 AM »
I hope folks don't mind me posting a couple of "from kit" builds here, but I found that building pre-machined kits is a great first step to machining your own engines.

This is the TVR1A from Graham Industries http://www.grahamind.com/tvr1a.html, bought as a pre-machined kit, and pretty much just screwed together. I did have to go back to Robert and ask for a couple of new crossheads, because the ones supplied with the kit had the piston rod hole rather off-center, but with the new ones fitted, it's a good runner. I love the sound!

Hi Simon is the engine fitted into anything or is it just for show?

It's just for show, at least right now. Actually it's gathering dust on the back of my workbench, but one of these days i'll polish it up and make a base!

Hi Simon, your engine looks great. I agree, this is a good way to get started. My son bought one when he was about 14 and he and I assembled it together, Dave
