Dave

I followed your build from the beginning and will continue following it here.  Awaiting your next installment.

Its been 2 mos since I have posted any progress on the twin. And a very difficult 2 mos it has been. I couldn't sleep a few nights ago so I went to the shop and assembled the twin. Everything went together as planned. It made good compression from the start and I motored it over a little while to make sure everything was going to stay together. I hooked up one of Roy Scholl's waist fire ignition systems and added fuel to the tank. With the switch turned on I spun it over with the drill and choked the carb and to my amazement it fired right up and ran for a few seconds. I went to bed feeling better that night.

The next morning I made a few adjustments and tried to start it again. It sprung to life and actually ran under it's own power. I don't have anyway to cool it yet so a few short runs are all that have been done so far.

A video for proof:

I'm not sure where I am going with this one yet, it has some issues that will require some redesign. Watch the oil can in the video in the background for an example.

I have proven to myself that an engine could be built and run in this configuration. As for a practical use there probably isn't any but the project has been fun. Dave

Pretty awesome Dave.
Glad you updated the thread.

How are you planning to cool it?

Who cares about the practical use? It is a unique and beautifully made engine.

And it runs!!!

Who could ask for more?

Congratulations Dave.

:whoohoo: that is one awesome engine. And yea who care about pratical use. you designed it and it runs and did a beautiful job. What I like the most is the gear box addition and carburetor construction twin input. Great job Dave.

Thanks guys, My original plans were to build a radiator and a water pump. I'm going to take a break from this one for awhile. I want to build something that is more conventional.

I took it outside today and took some pics:

Congratulations on a very unique and original engine design.  Looks good, runs good, sounds good.  What else is there?
